Nicole Joy Nathan is a talented pianist and dedicated teacher originally from Jakarta, Indonesia, now based in Singapore. Her musical journey began at the age of five, but her passion for piano blossomed during her junior high school years. 

Nicole has studied under renowned pianists such as Arga Tania Pramita, Johannes S. Nugroho, and Prajna Indrawati, and has participated in masterclasses with esteemed musicians Patrick Zygmanowski (France), Lena Ching (Singapore), and Min-Jung Kim (Korea). She holds the Trinity ATCL Diploma during her study in NAFA and ABRSM Grade 5 Theory certification, showcasing her commitment to technical and theoretical excellence. 

Her competition accolades include winning the Indonesia Piano Competition, Essex Indonesia Piano Competition, Indonesia Online Music Festival, and International Grand Music Festival. She was also a finalist in prestigious events such as the Chopin Avenue Competition, Singapore International Piano Competition, and the Hong Kong Youth Performance Arts Festival. Nicole has graced notable venues, including Erasmus Huis Concert Hall and Soehanna Hall in Jakarta, as well as Lee Foundation Theatre in Singapore. 

Known for her expressive interpretations of Romantic repertoire, Nicole brings a unique emotional depth and sensitivity to her performances. She draws inspiration from her teacher, Dr. Nicholas Ong, and finds artistic guidance in pianists like Tiffany Poon. Nicole’s ability to quickly adapt to new styles of music and her passion for sharing the beauty of classical music set her apart as an artist. 

In addition to performing, Nicole works as a part-time music educator and teaches privately, where she nurtures the next generation of pianists. Her goal is to inspire her students and audiences by demonstrating the power of music to connect, heal, and bring joy. 

Looking ahead, Nicole aspires to collaborate more with fellow musicians. Her vision is to use her artistry to share the timeless beauty of piano music with the world while continuing to grow as both a performer and teacher.
